Aerospace Engineering degrees abroad
The study of aerospace engineering is all about the research, design, construction, and maintenance of aircraft. It overlaps with other areas including aeronautical engineering and astronautical engineering, and can also cover things like space flight, telecommunication and weather forecasting equipment.
A career in the aerospace industry will see you working on cutting edge technology with the chance to work for huge international organizations. As an aerospace engineering graduate you’ll be highly skilled and in demand, with great career opportunities.
There are many great options when it comes to studying aerospace engineering abroad. You can study at bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate levels at some of the world’s most prestigious universities and engineering colleges.
Aerospace Engineering program structure
Aerospace engineering degree programs will cover largely the same areas wherever you study, however each will be slightly different depending on the country and university.
Most aerospace engineering degrees will include the option of choosing optional or selective modules that mean you can shape your program to suit your interests.
As with most engineering degrees, you can study a BSc, or BEng (Bachelor of Engineering) at the undergraduate level. You might be able to convert a BEng to an MEng (Master of Engineering), which includes an extra year of study and earns you a master’s level degree.
Undergraduate aerospace engineering programs usually last between three and five years, and you can study for a master’s over one or two years. PhD degrees are also available once you have your master’s, and they can take up to four years to complete.
Common modules you’ll study on most programs include:
