Study abroad at the University of Surrey

The University of Surrey is a public research university based in Guildford in the South East of England, within easy reach of London. The University provides an innovative learning environment, offering a wide range of degree programs at all academic levels including bachelor’s and master’s.

The University’s International Study Center gives you the opportunity to live and learn with other international students from all over the world. It offers pathway programs that are designed to prepare you to study a degree course at the University. They consist of academic subjects, study skills and English language training, and all take place on the University’s campus.

From your first day at the International Student Center you’ll be part of the university and have access to all the facilities the campus has to offer. This means you’ll be able to study in the state-of-the-art library and learning center, make use of the Surrey sports park, and socialize and make friends in the students’ union.

Life at the University of Surrey

The University of Surrey has one of the most culturally diverse student bodies in the UK, with international students from over 120 different countries making up 37 per cent of the student population.

When you arrive at the International Study Center, you’ll meet your personal tutor, who will be on hand to answer any questions and give you ongoing support. Student mentors will also help you settle in and make friends, and counselors are available if you need someone to talk to.

There are more than 140 societies you can join covering a huge range of subjects and interests. Getting involved in a club or society is one of the best ways to make friends and integrate into life at university as an international student.

Accommodation at Surrey is available to all international students, but you should apply early to make sure you secure your first choice place. All accommodation has been designed to provide a comfortable and safe living space, and rooms are available to suit a range of tastes and budgets.
