Auburn University (AU) is a public research university based in the small city of Auburn, Alabama, US. The University offers a wide range of programs to students in over 170 fields of study, including top programs in engineering, business, journalism, supply chain management, and aquatic sciences.
Set in picturesque grounds, Auburn’s campus offers everything you need, including a range of dining and housing options. There are regular campus events that take place throughout the year, and the University offers an extensive Greek Life community with 20 sororities and 32 fraternities.
AU's sports and athletics teams are known as the Tigers, and they compete in the prestigious Division I of the NCAA, the highest level of intercollegiate athletics. Auburn University is located in the southeastern United States, in east-central Alabama in Lee County. The city of Auburn, founded in 1836 by Judge John Harper, has a population of about 35,000. The name was derived from the line "Sweet Auburn, loveliest village of the Plain" in Oliver Goldsmith's poem "The Deserted Village."

Competitive Merit Scholarship
First-year students accepted for admission by early February receive automatic consideration for this scholarships. A scholarship application is not required. Consideration is based on high school GPA and standardized test score. Actual awards are determined based on the number of qualified admitted students, the credentials of those applicants, and available funding.

Life at Auburn University
Auburn University offers a truly international community, with more than 2,000 international students from over 80 countries currently enrolled.
AU’s International Student Organization (ISO) aims to improve multinational understanding and promote relationships between people of different cultures. The ISO also helps international students adapt to life at Auburn, and they actively promote diversity and interaction between students from both home and abroad.
There are also a range of events the ISO organize, including cultural shows, soccer tournaments, outdoor socials, international movie nights and an international show on radio. Accommodation is available to all international students studying at AU, with 32 residence halls available in nine neighborhoods.
