Classical studies program structure
You can study classical studies at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate levels. You can often study classical studies alongside other related subjects like English or philosophy as part of a joint honors program.
A bachelor's degree in classical studies takes three to four years to complete, depending on where you study. Some courses include a placement year which allows you to work or study abroad.
As a postgraduate, there are many programs you can choose from. Most courses are offered as an MA or MSc and usually last one to two years. After your master’s, you can go on to study a PhD in classical studies which usually takes three to five years to complete.
As a classical studies student, you’ll spend most of your time in lectures and seminars. Assessment methods vary between universities but usually involve essays, group projects, presentations, and exams.
