For our Digital Gaming programs, we have the latest 3D tools and software used by the industry. This includes Autodesk Maya, Adobe Substance Painter, and the Unity game engine among others.
To run these tools, we have the latest hardware and computers as well as our own motion capture studio. Many of our professors are veterans from the video game industry or are currently working in the local game studios scattered around the greater Seattle area.
We consult with these studios to provide our students with the latest instruction in technology and creative techniques.
The video game industry is international and there are studios and companies all over the world creating content and publishing games.
A standout is the greater Seattle area, considered one of the largest and concentrated hubs for game development and boasts some of the biggest and most famous studios, such as Bungie, Microsoft Game Studios, Sucker Punch (Sony), Electronic Arts, Monolith (Warner Bros) and many more.
Seattle includes a robust independent (Indie) game community as well as many mobile game developers. Seattle is also a leading tech industry hub and LWTech is at the center of this, providing employees, transferring knowledge, and working directly with many of these companies.
LWTech unique position in the Pacific Northwest allows us access to many of the area’s tech, business, and creative studios.
Employers up and down the pacific coast look to LWTech’s graduates as future team members.
Growth in the greater Seattle area (and elsewhere) has increased a need for qualified and well-trained technicians, developers, and artists for the ever-growing video game industry and the industries that support them, including marketing agencies, content creators, and independent contributors. Opportunity abounds in LWTech’s backyard!
