Scholarships for students in areas of the world that need help

We believe education is one of the most powerful ways to leave a positive impact on the world but we recognise that not everyone has easy access to it

That’s why we’re partnering with a number of charities now and in the future that provide scholarships for students in areas of the world that need help to fund their studies.

Prospect Burma

Prospect Burma is a charity who, like us, believe education is critical to helping a country recover from the effects of conflict. Internal conflicts have sadly raged throughout Myanmar resulting in hundreds of thousands of people being displaced, therefore now is a more critical time for education in the country than ever before.

The importance of quality education has an enormous, life-long impact on a student's life. A child who is born to a mother with an education is twice as likely to survive as one without. Research has proven that poverty is shown to decrease in a population who have increased access to education.

In the short term the international scholarships awarded by Prospect Burma dramatically transform the lives of students by enabling them to gain qualifications that result in more meaningful work and valuable skills. In the long term, those students take their knowledge, experience and education back to Myanmar in order to further improve the lives of others. Through their experience of studying abroad, scholars gain the skills, insight and knowledge of the wider world that can promote the development of a more peaceful society.

Like us, Prospect Burma believes that education facilitates free debate and is the essential foundation on which participatory democracy will develop.
