Student reviews for mathematics in the USA
I studied math and computer science. The professors were absolutely amazing, and I do miss them a lot. The academic program was rigorous, however there is help for everyone. I was able to get two internships during my fours years at Bethany which helped my career a lot.
Right now I’m in the Mathematics program, and so far it is going very good. What I like the most here are the teachers. They not only care about your grade, but also that you understand the material given in class. Troy university also has a lot of resources regarding academic purposes. There is a big library and a computer works building with available materials like computers and free printers. Also, if you need any help with a class, there are tutors available that would help you understand.
At the beginning of the experience it was nice. The professors were good and the structure of the courses were easy to understand. Once I got to higher classes the thing changed a little. It is more difficult to get into a class and some professors are not the best. During the pandemic, the courses became online and it was horrible. I couldn’t wait until the classes were in person so I had to take them. The tuition was expensive, at the beginning the classes were decent in terms of price but every semester was getting expensive and expensive up to the time that 3 classes were 5000$. The resources are very limited in terms of international student. And for the workload, every higher class that I took was more and more work.
For Mathematics, the lectures are quite extensive and detailed, and are conducted with proper guidance. The course is well organized and the workload is usually moderate.
Central Washington University is a perfect place to earn a math degree. All professors in the math department are outstanding and passionate about teaching math and many of them have been honored with the award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics from the Pacific Northwest section of the Mathematical Association of America.
