Most international students that choose Hungary as their education destination will live and study in Budapest. It’s the political, commercial and cultural center of the country and has lots to offer students.

Outside of the capital there are several other cities you could study in, including Debrecen, Miskolc, Szeged and Pécs. Away from the towns and cities, Hungary offers plenty for students to explore, from picturesque lakes, epic grasslands and undulating hills.

What is the cost of study in Hungary?

Compared to the rest of Europe and the US, the tuition fees in Hungary are relatively affordable. The amount you’ll need to pay will vary depending on the program and university, but you can expect to pay between $1,500 and $9,000 per year.

The living costs in Hungary are also quite low, but how much you’ll need to budget will depend on your spending habits, where you study, and what accommodation you choose. For example, if you study in Budapest and rent a private flat, it will cost much more than living in a dorm in a smaller city.
