McNeese State University has a good quality of facilities. They have a big parking garage to make sure students have enough space to park all the time. Library is currently renovated and expanded. The most important thing about the library is the library has a spacious room with computer labs in there, which is really convenient for students to study in there. Library also opens from early in the morning until the late midnight, so students can access to use both books and computers during the exam weeks. One of the things that I like the most about McNeese is the cafeteria. It has a variety of food choices and snacks for students to grab quickly between classes. About the societies, beside the American students, McNeese has a lot of students from many countries around the world, and the majorities are from Nepal and Nigeria because McNeese offers such good engineering, computer science, business, and nursing degrees. Besides the school, there are a lot of of churches near the university, the closest one is only 5-minute-walking from the school. And also, a lot of student activities are held and combined with the church.

McNeese State University is a well-renowned school in the state of Louisiana. This school provides you with many opportunities academically, socially, sports-wise, and many more. It is a division I school, this means that it is a university that supports the athletic program and it also means that it is a school that offers sports scholarships to athletes, who are willing to focus both in sports and school. I am currently staying on campus and I love it because the distance to the Business Department building is not too far and not too close. Due to the fact that the Business Department Building is the farthest building in the school and it is the building where I take most of my classes, I would not have preferred leaving off-campus. Based on the fact that Lake Charles has had many natural disasters occur in the past two years, the dorms are not in the best shape but every day one or two things are being fixed to put the dorms back in a good shape. The societies McNeese has are numerous, there is a society for anyone and if a student thinks that an organization needs to be created, he or she could start an organization with the proper procedures. I have not seen any transport links in McNeese, however, I wouldn't say there is a need for one because most places are within walking distances.

Lake Charles’ well-established agricultural and petrochemical industries, and rapidly growing healthcare field, mean that our students often have the ability to get hands-on, practical experience in their chosen discipline, whether that's engineering, nursing, education, or agriculture.

Plus, southwest Louisiana is a fantastic place to experience one-of-a-kind adventures. Where else would you be able to experience Mardi Gras balls and parades, crawfish boils, working as an intern in alligator research, and exploring the wetlands of the United States Gulf Coast?

McNeese offers its students multiple resources to ensure their safety, health, and success. The Student Health Center and Counseling Center care for our students' physical and mental wellness, while the Rec Center provides ample space to play racquetball, basketball, lift weights, or go for a swim.
