Moraine Valley Community College is a vibrant two-year college, located in the southwest suburbs of Chicago - one of the most exciting cities in the USA. The College is dedicated to ensuring its students gain the skills and knowledge they need to meet the demands of a changing world.

Moraine Valley offers a range of associate degrees, and there are more than 130 programs available to study. Many of the College’s students transfer to top four-year institutions, including the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign), University of Illinois (Chicago), DePaul University, University of Minnesota, University of Washington, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The College boasts expert faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and a range of exciting activities for students to enjoy on campus. Moraine Valley has 12 athletics teams competing in the National Junior College Athletic Association, as well as intramural sports that all students can get involved in.

As an International student studying at Moraine, you’ll have opportunities to improve your English, succeed in degree and certificate programs, transfer to top universities, and pursue career pathways through local internships.

Support is available with free tutoring on a range of subjects, and the Office of International Student Affairs has trained staff who can help with things like immigration issues, adjusting to life in the USA, and any personal concerns you might have.

International Student Affairs also offers housing assistance to all new international students. They can find you a room using the Host Home Program, which means you’ll live with a local member of the community. Alternatively, they can help you find an apartment close to campus if you’d prefer to live more independently.

Fee information

  • Undergraduate tuition: US$9,408 per year

Funding

Student Government Book Scholarship

  • Amount - US$200 per year
  • Requirements - Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be currently enrolled at Moraine Valley. Submit one letter of recommendation from a faculty member or Moraine Valley staff.

Faculty Association Scholarships

  • Amount - US$500 per year
  • Requirements - Open to students who have completed 25 credit hours in a transfer or career program at Moraine Valley, maintained at least a 3.4 GPA, are currently enrolled, have obtained the signature of a full-time faculty member, and are enrolled at Moraine Valley during the semester the scholarship is awarded.

Student Life Award of Excellence

  • Amount - US$1,000 per year
  • Requirements - Must be involved in Student Life Office program(s) and have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA, with completion of at least six credit hours per semester. Must complete an essay and provide two sealed letters of recommendation from Moraine Valley faculty, staff, or administration.
