The University of Bridgeport (UB) is a private institution based in the US state of Connecticut’s largest city. Students can choose from over 150 career-oriented majors and postgraduate qualifications across 14 schools. Some of the University’s most popular programs include those in engineering, business, and health sciences. The University is committed to preparing students for personal and professional success.
Lying on a stretch of Long Island Sound, UB’s 56-acre campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities in scenic surroundings. Campus provisions include a modern business center, excellent computer suites, industry-standard engineering labs, and seven welcoming halls of residence. The beach opposite also provides plenty of opportunities for sunbathing or outdoor recreation.
UB has an active student body that runs over 60 organizations, ranging from a science fiction and fantasy club, to a gospel choir. The University competes in 11 varsity sports, with men and women’s teams competing in the NCAA Division II.

UB is a truly diverse university, with over 80 countries represented on campus. In fact, approximately 20% of the entire student body is made up of international students. So, no matter where you’re from, you’ll feel at home at UB.
The University has several support services in place, including the international center for students and scholars. The professionals working at the center can help with cultural adjustment, visa issues, employment, and much more. They also host orientation events, international festivals, and celebrations of cultural and religious holidays throughout the year.
If you need some extra help with learning and using English, the University runs its own English language program, with the option of attending a course in the summer before your program begins.
Academic scholarships range from US$5,000 to $20,000 per academic year and are based on academic excellence and English proficiency. Awarded to incoming undergraduate international students.
We are very pleased to announce that the University of Bridgeport offers an international graduate scholarship program for incoming international graduate students. The amounts awarded range from $3,000 to $4,000.
These awards are based on the student’s academic achievement and test scores. Scholarships are valid for the first 2 semesters (1 year of enrollment)
