    "Throughout the Public Relations master of arts degree program, students will examine how new social tools and communication channels have changed the idea of what it means to be a public relations professional. Students will learn how to leverage social media in order to launch powerful dialogues with an organization’s consumers and advocates. Along with learning the new digital tools, the Public Relations master’s program will give students a solid foundation in traditional PR. Students will gain a solid grasp of how to plan, research, execute, and evaluate effective PR media plans. During the course of the program and in preparation for their final thesis project, students will build a website and social channels from the ground up, fostering their own professional reputation and audience throughout the degree program.


    Master's Objective The Internet and new media channels have had a profound impact on the field of public relations. The rise of participatory media such as blogs, Twitter, and content-sharing sites has challenged the traditional ideal of who is a journalist – dramatically altering how publicists and PR professionals engage to share their stories. In addition to traditional news media, today’s PR professionals must also identify and develop credible and lasting relationships with influential voices throughout the social media world. Effective PR messages are informative, newsworthy, and interesting – but not to everyone and not all the time. Online PR professionals must compete with a broad spectrum of challenges and with a variety of social media participants, who all have their individual perspective of public relations and Internet marketing strategies. The Public Relations master of arts degree program is designed to provide students with a practical working knowledge of traditional PR methods and a hands-on understanding of the latest new social tools, communication channels, technologies, trends, and best practices. The 12-month program is focused on developing new media PR professionals with a solid understanding of traditional PR tradecraft, digital media expertise, and technical skills."

    Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate the required level of language proficiency by providing documentation of one of the following:

    • TOEFL iBT minimum required score of 79
    • IELTS Academic minimum required score of 6
    • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) score of 53

    Additional language proficiency exams may be accepted and scores are only valid for 2 years

    Academic Advantage Scholarship

    Full Sail University is dedicated to the encouragement and development of future generations of entertainment media and technology professionals. In an effort to further this encouragement and development, Full Sail University introduces the Academic Advantage Scholarship Program. Academic Advantage Scholarship for eligible campus degree program candidates will vary:

    • Associate degree students may earn up to $5,000 for their first academic year, and a total of $7,500 for all academic years.
    • Bachelor's degree students may earn up to $6,000 for their first academic year, and a total of $15,000 for all academic years.
    • Master's degree students may earn up to $4,000 for their first academic year, and a total of $6,000 for all academic years.

    Global Achievement Scholarship

    The Full Sail Global Achievement Scholarship is designed to encourage and develop future international entertainment and media professionals throughout the world. The Global Achievement Scholarship will award up to $5,000 to eligible campus degree program candidates.  This scholarship fund is limited, and will be awarded to all applicants who meet the eligibility requirements and according to the award determination process as outlined below. In order to be eligible for consideration, those applying for a Global Achievement Scholarship must:

    • Complete and submit the Global Achievement application, and an original 250-word essay on “How My Full Sail Education Will Help Me Achieve My Career Dream” prior to the first day of class.
    • Be a non-US citizen or nonpermanent resident, as defined by Full Sail University.
    • Applicants must have applied for one of the following immersive campus degree programs

      Computer Animation, Creative Writing, Digital Arts & Design, Entertainment Business, Film, Game Art, Media Communication, Music Business, Recording Arts, Show Production, or Sports Marketing & Media

    STEM Scholarship

    The STEM Scholarship is designed to encourage and develop future international professionals seeking careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. The STEM Scholarship program will award up to $5,000 to eligible campus degree program candidates. This scholarship fund is limited and will be awarded to all applicants who meet the eligibility requirements according to the award determination process outlined below. In order to be eligible for consideration, those applying for a STEM Scholarship must:

    • Be a non-US citizen or nonpermanent resident, as defined by Full Sail University.
    • Complete and submit the STEM Scholarship application, and an original 250-word essay, “How My Full Sail Education Will Prepare Me for a STEM Career,” prior to the first day of class.

    Women In Technology Scholarship

    The Women in Technology Scholarship is designed to identify women who are exceptionally talented in their problem solving and critical thinking skills, academically successful, and passionate about emerging technology industries. Three components encompass this program: scholarship, community, and mentorship. The Women in Technology Scholarship program will award a full scholarship including tuition and a laptop to an eligible woman pursuing a select Full Sail University degree program. Applicants will need to adhere to eligibility criteria and strict deadlines outlined in the Minimum Eligibility Requirements and Application Process sections. Upon starting the program, the recipient is paired with a mentor (female faculty or graduate in a similar field of study), during their time at Full Sail University. Along with a mentor, the award winner will have an opportunity to engage with the community by attending a conference with an emphasis in Women’s leadership in technology. Finalists will be invited to a Full Sail University virtual event to participate in a whiteboard problem-solving competition. A very limited number of scholarships awarded to the finalists selected from the competition.
