"Simmons University’s Master of Science in Nutrition and Health Promotion program is designed to help students develop an advanced understanding of nutrition, fitness, and wellness. The program provides training in nutrition science and health promotion strategies to prepare students to be leaders in the dynamic field of nutrition.
The Public Health major is an interdisciplinary major in Biology and Sociology and offers two tracks (Biology and Sociology). An accelerated five-year BS Public Health (Biology track)/MS Nutrition program is jointly offered by the Biology Department, , and the Nutrition Department, College of Natural, Behavioral and Health Sciences.
Students complete this accelerated BS/MS program in five years and receive a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Public Health and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Health Promotion. Graduates of this program will find opportunities and careers in a variety of fields promoting health, which include research, government programs, weight loss centers, and exercise facilities. Working with an advisor, two graduate courses, SNHS 410 Research Methods and SNHS 450 Health Care Systems: Interdisciplinary Perspectives, are taken in the senior year."
Applicants to bachelor’s degree programs must have obtained a secondary school diploma that is eligible for further academic studies in the country where it was earned.
All applicants for whom English is not their first language must submit proof of English proficiency to be considered for admission:
First-year students where English is the language of instruction for the entirety of their secondary school education (3-4 years) AND who have not taken any ESL/ELL classes in 11th or 12th grades have satisfied the University's English proficiency requirement.
