What the University of Helsinki says about their program:
"The Master's Programme in Geology and Geophysics trains you to address pressing questions concerning our home planet's evolution, its role as the source of raw materials needed by modern civilization, and a range of environmental issues on multiple temporal and spatial scales. Sustaining the growing population on our dynamic planet requires deep understanding of geological and geophysical processes within the Earth, and of how they interact with the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biota. The programme includes four thematic study track options (Hydrogeology and Environmental Geology, Palaeontology and Global Change, Petrology and Economic Geology, and Solid Earth Geophysics), each of which offers a unique opportunity to personalize and focus your own expertise profile within the broad field of geosciences. Thesis projects in the programme are mainly supervised by the researchers and staff of the Department of Geosciences and Geography including the UH Institute of Seismology."
The application period to our international programs is in December every year.
Please note that each Master’s programme has its own criteria on what studies you must have completed previously.
