Life as an international student

MtA’s excellent science and liberal arts education attracts students from every corner of the globe. Over 50 nationalities are represented on campus and international students make up roughly 12% of the University’s student population.

MtA’s international center is staffed by professionals who work to support you both academically and personally. They’ll help you with issues like visas, passports, language proficiency, and adjusting to your new home.

All international students are invited to participate in an orientation program that begins a few days before domestic students start arriving. These activities are a great way to meet friends and get used to your new environment. You’ll also be paired up with a third or fourth-year student as part of the international mentorship program.

All international students are guaranteed a place in one of the University’s halls of residence.

  • Undergraduate tuition: CAD18,200 per year

Funding

You will be automatically considered for entrance scholarships when you submit your comprehensive admission and scholarship application.

You must have a calculated admission average of 80% (or equivalent) to be eligible for an entrance scholarships Entrance scholarships range from $4,000-$20,000 ($1,000-$5,000 a year)

Mount Allison's entrance scholarships are awarded based on demonstrated:

  • extracurricular involvement
  • leadership experience
  • community service
  • work/internship experience as well as academic transcripts
