      Berkeley is safe overall and very welcome to international students. The bus link is well planned. There isn’t much night life’s but it’s worthwhile the evenings are the best.

      The transportation is very easy as stated above. Bart goes through the city, so it is very accesible from other districts such as Oakland or Richmond, and roaming around the city is very easy as AC Transit clipper cards are provided to students attending in BCC. you can enjoy a lot of social life around the college.

      Tell us about Berkeley
      I study in Berkeley and Oakland. Same school but campuses located in different cities. Both cities are diverse and energetic. Tons of good restaurants, shops, and book stores nearby. We can easily walk to those stores. People who live here are very nice and welcoming. Daylife is safer than nightlife. And it's sad to see many homeless people who live on the streets in both cities.

      Tell us about Berkeley
      Berkeley is a very interesting city with a lot of fun activities to do everyday. This is an international community with people from all over the world. There are so many great restaurants, bars, parks, museums, and shops in this small city. I love the diversity of the restaurants in particular because it has allowed me to try new food from places I have never been to. However, I must say that Berkeley can be also a little bit intimidating especially at night because it has a severe homeless population living in the city streets and it can be dangerous in some areas. For that reason, I must say that you can feel comfortable traveling around Berkeley but you should be careful like in any other place that is unfamiliar to you, especially if you are alone at night.
