Why study in Appleton?

Appleton is a delightful city located in northeastern Wisconsin, USA. Situated along the banks of the meandering Fox River, Appleton is known for its rich educational history and lively community spirit.

International students will love the city’s downtown district where the streets are lined with locally-owned shops, bars, and restaurants. You could catch one of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers’ baseball matches, explore the city’s beautiful nature trails, check out the Harry Houdini museum exhibition, and dance the night away at the Mile of Music festival.

Direct bus routes make getting to the nearby cities of Milwaukee and Chicago simple. Appleton International Airport is just three miles west of the city, with Austin Straubel International Airport only 28 miles away.

    Tell us about Appleton
Appleton, Wisconsin, is a cool city to hang out. It is perfect for a short vacation and enjoy with the family and friends. It has many cool stores and restaurants around the city. It might be considered a safe city, however, as an international student, I didn't like many things about the city, first, the bus network was awful because they have a tied schedule and did not function on the weekends, so, how an international student can go to the lake if the bus doesn't get there, how can you visit many places in the city if the bus doesn't function on the weekends, how can you have nightlife if there are no buses at all. The fact of transportation was awful for me, so the best solution for that problem was to make friends that can give me a ride, perhaps, this was my biggest problem with being in Wisconsin. Also, the city is considered the second drunkest city in the USA which makes the place unsafe to drive and for night walks.
