What Western Washington University says about their program:
"Western's Master of Professional Accounting program (MPAcc) is a selective program that builds on the strength and diversity of our accounting courses while maintaining our focus on small classes and accessible faculty.
Accountants help both their immediate clients and the public to understand and evaluate increasingly complex transactions. To do so, a contemporary accountant needs the theoretical and practical background offered by a Master of Professional Accounting degree. Most states (including Washington) require an additional year of education beyond the four years generally needed for a bachelor's degree to qualify for the CPA examination. The MPAcc program offer students the opportunity to earn a master's degree in accounting while meeting the 5th year educational requirement to become a Certified Public Accountant.
The Western MPAcc Program structure builds on the depth and breadth of the Accounting Department's advanced level elective courses and close working relationships among students and faculty members."
Admission to Western is selective. Cumulative academic achievement is the most important factor in the application review process. Level and difficulty of courses, grade trends, school and community involvement, special talents, strength of character, and personal circumstances are also considered.

International students are not eligible for financial aid and must provide verification of funding for one year of expenses. If an international student is hired as a Teaching Assistant (TA), the compensation for the TA (stipend and waiver) can be used to offset some of the financial documentation required for the visa processing. However, TA compensation will not cover all costs of attendance.
Many international students will require a visa to study in the US, and this is a vital step of your study abroad journey. Make sure you understand the requirements you may need to meet before applying.
