What the University of Skövde says about their program:
"Do you want to help develop new techniques that will contribute towards improving people’s lives? This could involve being able to identify diseases or genetically modifying cells.
Molecular biotechnology is a growing scientific field that combines molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, biochemistry and immunology, in order to develop products and services within the pharmaceutical, agricultural and food industries.
During the first semester, you will study advanced courses within molecular biology, biostatistics and bioinformatics. You will work with advanced laboratory equipment to analyse DNA, RNA and proteins. Techniques used include qPCR, mutagenesis, cloning and protein expression. You will also learn to use molecular biological and bioinformatics data analyses, and to carry out database searches.
During the second semester, you will carry out a degree project in which you will apply your theoretical and practical knowledge to solve a research problem within molecular biotechnology. This is an individual degree project, and can be carried out at a business or an educational institution, either in Sweden or abroad."
Admission requires at least a Bachelor's Degree (equivalent to a Swedish Bachelor’s Degree) in an academic discipline relevant to the proposed field of study or equivalent.
If you have previous university studies, you may meet the English 6 requirement for the course or programme you've applied to in either of the following ways.

The scholarships are partial tuition fee waivers (50% of the tuition fee). If you are granted, the amount will be automatically deducted from the tuition fee when you receive your invoice.
The scholarship is granted for one academic semester, but it can be extended to subsequent academic semesters provided that the student's study results are satisfactory. The scholarship granting criterion is academic merit.
Many international students will require a visa to study in Sweden, and this is a vital step of your study abroad journey. Make sure you understand the requirements you may need to meet before applying.
