Postgraduate academic requirements

A minimum of a 2:2 UK honours degree, or a recognised equivalent international qualification.

English proficiency

  • IELTS: 6.5 (No Band Lower Than 6.0)
  • PTE: 67 (No Band Lower Than 64)
  • Duolingo English Test: 120 (110 in each component)
  • TOEFL iBT: 88 (No Band Lower Than 22)
  • CAE: 176 (No Band Lower Than 169)

English waivers

  • You are a national of a majority English-speaking country.

  • You have studied for a minimum of one year, and successfully completed within the past five years, a qualification equivalent to a UK bachelors degree or higher, taught in a majority English-speaking country.

  • You have studied for a minimum of one year, and successfully completed in the past five years, a qualification equivalent to a UK bachelors degree or higher from a Russell Group university, taught entirely, or in part, at an overseas campus.

Documents required

  • Scanned copies of signed/stamped qualifications (certificates or transcripts) to show how you meet, or expect to meet, the entry requirements
  • Evidence of your English language level, if English is not your first language
  • A copy of your passport, if you need a visa to study here
  • A personal statement (for non-research courses)
  • A research proposal (for research courses only)
