"Accounting is often referred to as the “language of business”. This reference is because the primary function of accounting is to provide key financial information to business stakeholders to be used in assessing the economic performance and condition of business.
Those choosing to enter the field of accounting should have strong problem solving abilities, excellent oral and written communication skills, and quantitative skills. Students intending to transfer to a baccalaureate institution and major in Business Administration have two degree options-The Business DTA or the Associate in Arts and Science DTA completing all of the prescribed courses listed for the Business DTA will enable students to be major ready when they transfer to any public baccalaureate institution in the state of Washington."

BBCC accepts all applicants who are 18 years of age or older who have graduated from an accredited high school or have an equivalent secondary school certificate.
English requirements
- TOEFL iBT: 48 (minimum score of 12 in each section)
- TOEFL PBT: 450
- IELTS: 5.0 minimum score of 4 in each band)
