I've already done 2 courses from TESOL program, survey of grammar and methodology and assessment of TESOL, which are highly helpful to me teaching journey. But I did not do well on British literature because the professor grade toughly on essays and it is difficult.

I am doing a Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies (MIS), concentrating in Public Administration (MPA), Business Administration (MBA) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language (TESOL). The program tuition is somewhat reasonable as international students pay at a higher rate than locals, however, scholarships and grants are available for international students. I was awarded with the highest international scholarship which helps to cover half of my tuition each fall and spring semester. I chose this program because it allows me to customize my degree by taking courses from all three disciplines listed previously. The MIS program will make me marketable and will enable me to function effectively and efficiently in any line of work in my fields of study. Learning materials are made available through an online learning system call Canvas, for all classes, face to face, online and hybrid. This system allows you to view your current courses and communicate and collaborate with your lecturers and peers. All contents of your courses will be available on the Canvas platform, such as, modules, assignments, grades, syllabus etc. With that said, Canvas facilitates learning at your convenience. Being an international student I have to enroll in at least one face to face or hybrid class. For these classes lecture sessions last for 1 or 2 hours and lecturers are always dedicated, prepared and on time.

    Cybele Higgins
    Cybele Higgins says:

Studying ESOL in the USA helps students learn American English from beginning to advanced, focusing on communicative purposes for life skills, college, and career.

Active learning is the primary way that students learn in the education system in the USA. In contrast to rote memorization-based language learning, learning actively empowers students to learn for student-driven purposes and helps performance in other courses and careers.

ESOL benefits international students in that English is a world language, a tool for communication all around the world. After taking advanced ESOL classes, students have high levels of academic and career English that can help them study towards degrees as well as function well in work environments where English is key to success.
