Document fraud policy

Any document submitted to Studee, in support of applications for admission, academic evaluations, or required administrative processing must be true, accurate, and complete. Application documents must not make misrepresentations, omit relevant information, or be altered from the original.

The submission of application documents such as transcripts, diplomas, test scores, references, or applications, that are forged, fraudulent, altered from the original, materially incomplete, obtained under false pretenses, or otherwise deceptive (collectively referred to as “fraudulent documents”) is prohibited by Studee and may be deemed to be a breach of contract by the partner agency, which can amount to termination or other disciplinary action.

Examples of fraudulent documents

  • Certificates or other documentation that has been considered by acknowledged verification offices, and where there is a well-founded suspicion of fraud
  • Certificates or other documentation that has been confirmed fraudulent by the issuing institution or office
  • Certificates or other documentation that has been confirmed fraudulent by Studee or if detected by an immigration officer
  • Certificates or other documentation from non-accredited, fake institutions ("diploma mills")

Process in cases with suspected fraudulent documents

The Studee account management with the customer support center management will review any fraudulent activities and will determine the next steps in accordance with the process set out below.

Studee will consider the application/account to be ‘on hold’ until the investigation is complete and a decision regarding the possible outcomes is communicated to the partner agent. The process of investigation may vary according to the nature of the suspected fraud.

However, it may include:

  • Requesting the agent partner for further information to verify their application
  • Requesting certified copies of supporting documents if not already received
  • Requesting that the partner agent seeks confirmation from a third party, such as an awarding institution to confirm the applicant’s grades or attendance

What disciplinary action may be applied?

Studee reserves the right in its sole discretion to do any of the following:

  • Cancel and/or withdraw the application, whether or not an offer has already been made by the Studee partner university
  • Include a permanent record of fraudulent activity in the partner agent account on Studee
  • Account suspension or deactivation
  • Terminate the Partner Agent Agreement.
  • Notify other educational institutions and police or immigration report (the latter in the event the student requires/required a study permit to enter the country)
  • Claim all damages and remedies under the agreement and under applicable laws
