Medical engineering studies are interdisciplinary studies at the intersection of engineering, biology and medical sciences, which are aimed at solving human health problems through advances in disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention technologies. The purpose of medical engineering is to improve the quality of health services through technical means - creating and designing technical equipment to improve medicine and human health. The aim of the study program: to prepare medical engineers who, after completing the study program, would successfully enter the labor market related to the provision of health care services, by getting employment in companies performing activities related to multi-purpose medical equipment or in state enterprises or in another field chosen by the graduate, or continue to pursue a scientific degree and, applying the practice of engineering creativity and critical thinking, realizing the influence and importance of their decisions on the development of society, constantly raising professional qualifications and competence through lifelong learning, would contribute to the welfare of the state and society. Medical Engineering is in the place where growing and rapidly developing technological and medical sciences come together, it is relevant globally and nationally, therefore the need for highly qualified specialists will not decrease. After completing the Medical Engineering at VilniusTECH young professionals are much-needed in health-care sector, hospitals, therapy, sports rehabilitation and medical institutions, companies producing medical and rehabilitation equipment, as well as compensatory equipment for disabled people, companies which produce orthopedic devices like orthoses and prostheses. Medical engineer will supervise and deploy sophisticated medical equipment, train employees to use it, perform maintenance and support.

Admission requirements

Undergraduate academic requirements

  • Secondary School Graduation Certificate with good results (minimum 60% CGPA)
  • Entrance score (KB) consists of grades in three subjects

    mathematics (M), physics/another science subject/social science subject (F) and English language (A). The entrant's grades are normalized to the maximum possible grade. The normalized grades of individual subjects are multiplied by the weighting factor and added up.

  • Applications must be accompanied by legalized English translations of all transcripts. Unofficial copies are not accepted. Please check country specific requirements for detailed information.
  • No entrance examinations (except for Architecture and Landscape Architecture program) for foreigners are needed.
  • For Architecture and Landscape Architecture programs, entrance test is required.

Postgraduate academic requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent (official transcripts required) in a relevant field with minimum 60% CGPA. Please check country specific requirements for detailed information.
  • Applications must be accompanied by legalized English translations of all transcripts. Unofficial copies are not accepted.
  • Acceptance by the Dean’s Office of the chosen faculty (you will be asked to record an interview after application submission, that will be evaluated by the director of chosen study program).
  • Gap since your last completed degree should not exceed three years or you should provide credible professional work experience certificates.
