The Bachelor of Science in Forestry degree with an emphasis in urban forestry is a 130 semester-hour program that prepares graduates for success in the expanding field of urban renewable natural resource management.

Urban forestry professionals are trained to manage both individual trees and groups of trees in urban settings as well as in the rapidly growing wildland-urban interface, that area in which development is spreading into the nation's wildlands.

Graduates with the urban forestry emphasis are eagerly sought by employers in federal, state, and private sectors, especially private consulting firms.

    A $1,000 annual scholarship from SFA's Office of International Programs for students who contribute to international representation on campus. Open to both undergraduate (minimum 2.75 GPA) and graduate (minimum 3.25 GPA) students, and explicitly designed for non-domestic students: applicants must satisfy at least two of the following criteria - a native language other than English, having lived outside the United States for 15+ years, or holding foreign/dual citizenship not recognized by the US. Recipients also become eligible for Texas resident tuition rates, saving roughly $4,500 per semester.
