The Civil Engineering programme (Baccalauréat en génie civil) at Université Laval leads to a Bachelor of Engineering and prepares students to design roads, bridges, and large-scale buildings. Students can follow a general pathway or choose one of three available concentrations.

Students learn to design, build, and operate roads, structures, dams, and large buildings sustainably, gaining foundational knowledge in materials strength, structural design, hydraulics, soil mechanics, and project management. They learn to analyse soil stability, design water supply networks, and work with materials such as wood, concrete, steel, and aluminium.

The programme suits people drawn to construction, large infrastructure projects, and solving complex technical problems in teams. Graduates become civil engineers working for construction companies, engineering firms, municipalities, and government departments, with the credential recognised by Engineers Canada and the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
