What Canterbury Christ Church University says about their program:
Study for an MSc in Child Nursing and begin your nursing career in this exciting area of healthcare. The Master's degree in Child Nursing at CCCU is designed for graduates from any field of academic study. Upon successful completion, you will be eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) to become, and practise as, a registered child nurse.
On this collaborative course, you will study alongside adult and mental health nursing students in your first semester. You will experience all three pathways on your first placement, allowing you the opportunity to switch pathways once you have more knowledge of the other nursing roles.
You will be taught both nursing theory and practice through modules where you will explore everything from nursing ethics, through to anatomy and physiology, as well as management and leadership in nursing.
What's more, our work with service users and colleagues from practice ensures our MSc Child Nursing course puts service users at the centre of all we do, enabling you to take a holistic and person-centred approach.
Student nursing placements are a key part of MSc Child Nursing at CCCU. You will work directly with children experiencing changes to their physical and mental health in primary, secondary, and tertiary care settings. These experiences will ensure you gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to prepare you to be a practitioner and leader in nursing care.
When not on placement, you will be taught in CCCU's state-of-the-art facilities. Our simulation suites enable you to hone your practical and communication skills, promoting self-reflection and improvement in controlled settings as you develop your skills and knowledge for the workplace.
