Program overview

What Université Laval says about their program:

The Baccalaureat en genie chimique, or Chemical Engineering, is a Bachelor of Engineering offered at Universite Laval. It trains students to apply and optimise industrial processes in fields such as biofuels, biomaterials, ore treatment, pharmaceutical processes and the environment.

Students learn the equipment, techniques and processes used in the chemical and related industries, building a foundation in fundamental sciences and the phenomena behind key operations. The programme includes team-based capstone projects submitted by industry, such as fluid pumping system design or ethanol production simulation, along with an accredited engineering curriculum recognised by Engineers Canada.

The programme suits people who enjoy designing, testing and improving processes and equipment, and who can supervise and coordinate projects. Graduates typically work in process optimisation, sustainability and environmental management, and can pursue graduate studies in chemical engineering.
