The Architecture Department offers vocational and paraprofessional programs in architectural technology as well as preparation for transfer to four- and five-year architecture programs.

The curriculum provides necessary skills for employment in the design and construction fields. Students may prepare for positions as CAD drafting technicians, 3-D project renderers, and other similarly related occupations in public and private sector architecture and construction/building industry related offices. Supplemental courses offer students a broad architectural and general education background and enable them to continue their education in architecture at the university level.

Scholarships at Laney College

  • International Scholarship

    Official page

    A $500 scholarship offered through the Peralta Colleges Foundation scholarship portal, open to students at any of the four Peralta Community College District colleges, including Laney College. Eligibility is explicitly limited to students whose "Citizenship Status is International Student" (i.e., F-1 international students), requiring a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, at least 12 completed units at Peralta, and at least one remaining semester at Peralta. This makes it one of the few named awards on the portal that is expressly open to non-domestic undergraduates rather than requiring US citizenship, FAFSA, or California residency-based aid (e.g. BOG fee waiver).
