What the University of Minnesota Crookston says about their program:
As the old saying goes, “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.” Umm, that’s not always the case, though. What’s good for grapes may not be good for corn. Agronomy majors learn what individual crops need to be most productive. Study such topics as soil nutrients, pest management, and weed control. You’ll learn and do it all here. Take great satisfaction in knowing you’re helping feed the world. See how this highly technical field prepares students for a challenging career in so many areas.

A tuition-reduction award for currently enrolled University of Minnesota Crookston students who have completed at least 24 credits at UMC, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, are enrolled full-time (12+ credits), and demonstrate leadership through involvement in campus clubs and organizations (one letter of recommendation is required with the application). The waiver is documented on the university's official "Future International Students" admissions page as part of the tuition and financial-support information given to prospective and current international applicants, and no citizenship, permanent-residency, or visa-status restriction is stated anywhere in the eligibility criteria. Combined with UMC's policy that all students -- domestic and international alike -- pay the same in-state tuition rate, this waiver represents a genuine, non-need-based (FAFSA-independent) source of tuition relief that international undergraduates can pursue once they have built up enrollment history and campus involvement at the Crookston campus.
