Student reviews for Artevelde University of Applied Sciences
The University has plenty of spaces available for students to learn and work alone or with classmates on all campuses. There is a housing department that provides housing based on application, however it is not guaranteed to have a room. The advice is to search for student houses on your own. Most of the student houses have a good location; near the campuses and the city-center. Furthermore, communication with teachers, lecturers and administration office is very easy and fast. Some campuses are in walking distance from the train station. Moreover, there is a bike parking at the campuses and bus stops a few streets away.
I find the facilities of my school really good. Being an international student coming from a country where school infrastructure is lagging behind, I find everything here really good and conducive.
I love how open and friendly my University is with international students, the International club is an amazing space that helped me a lot to socialize and make friends, for me, social life has been changing throughout the years because I don’t have the same group of friends in every class and I mostly have Erasmus friends that leave after a semester, but the experience is still amazing. If we talk about facilities, I give it a low rate because I know a lot of students (specially first years and Erasmus) come with the idea of having classes in Kantienberg but end up having all their lessons in Stropkaai, which is sad because sometimes we have classes from 10:30 until 5:30 and during the small breaks the only option is the machines in the 7th floor that already stole my money twice.
Cool facilities, transport links are up to standards and the social life is great.
The AUAS is a very generous university that offers various facilities to all students of a very high quality. For instance, in case you need a laptop, you can borrow one from the library of the university. Additionally, Artevelde offers student dorms that are much cheaper than the ones of competitors. Moreover, there are multiple student organizations within the University: International Club, SDG corner, Investors club, the Student Council etc. There is even a gym and group workout offered by the university. Lastly, campuses are easily reachable by bus, bicycle and foot.
