They are awarded on the basis of academic merit as demonstrated by high-grade point average (GPA) and SAT or ACT exam scores, not financial need. International student scholarships can range from US$2,000 per year to US$12,000 per year for highly qualified students.

NCAA Division I recently passed legislation which allows for institutions to offer multi-year athletic scholarships, but athletic scholarships in Division II are currently given on a one-year renewable basis.
