Our close connections to the tourism and event business as well as our real-life learning projects enable you to develop the skills and competences needed in a fast-paced business environment. By working and learning in teams you will also gain valuable leader­ship and project management skills. You will also learn efficient sales and presentation skills and how to use different innovative development methods and approaches for applied research. Studies combined with an internship and a thesis project give you the skills, mindset, and networks required to enter and thrive in the tourism and event business.

Postgraduate academic requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher and at least two years of work experience after completing the Bachelor's degree.
  • Relevant degree and work experience depend on the desired degree programme.

Entry requirements

As an alternative to entrance examinations, you can apply to Haaga-Helia with the SAT test. Order the official SAT score report from the test organizer to be delivered to Haaga-Helia, the code for Haaga-Helia UAS is 7098. This is a multiple-choice, pencil-and-paper test administered by the College Board. All eligible applicants who earn the required minimum points will be accepted.

Required scores for Bachelors:

  • 500 points Evidence-based reading and writing
  • 500 points Math

Required scores for Masters:

  • 600 points in section Evidence-based reading and writing ranging from 200–800.
  • 6 points in section SAT Essay

Please note! In addition to SAT scores, you need to have a higher secondary degree (e.g. high school diploma) to apply to Haaga-Helia.

Fees and funding

Applicants who are not citizens of the EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee of €100 when applying to Bachelor's or Master's level programs in Finland.

The application fee does not guarantee that you will be offered admission and isn't refundable.

Early Bird Scholarship

  • €2,000 reduction on first year tuition fees
  • Autumn Scholarship

    For applicants who accept their study place within 7 days and pay the tuition fee of the first semester within 14 days of receiving the acceptance letter.

  • Spring Scholarship

    For applicants who accept their study place within 14 days and pay the tuition fee of the first semester within 30 days of receiving the acceptance letter.

Bachelor-level scholarship - €2,000

You may be awarded this scholarship if you:

  • Achieve YKI Basic level (grade 2) in Finnish language proficiency (CEFR A2)
  • Complete 60 ECTS credits within two consecutive study semesters at Haaga-Helia or at partner institutions

Eligibility:

  • Your mother tongue must be a language other than Finnish
  • The 60 credits must be earned within the same degree programme
  • You can first apply for this scholarship during your third semester
  • From the seventh semester onwards, credits no longer count toward this scholarship
  • The scholarship is paid after you’ve paid tuition and completed both semesters of the evaluation period
  • If you graduate in one academic year or less, you can still apply by contacting Study Services

Bachelor-level scholarship - €3,500

You may be awarded this scholarship if you:

  • Achieve YKI Intermediate level (grade 3) in Finnish language proficiency (CEFR B1)
  • Complete 120 ECTS credits within four consecutive study semesters at Haaga-Helia or at partner institutions

Eligibility:

  • Your mother tongue must be a language other than Finnish
  • The 120 credits must be completed within the same degree programme
  • You can first apply for this scholarship during your fifth semester
  • From the seventh semester onwards, credits no longer count toward this scholarship
  • The scholarship is paid after you’ve paid tuition and completed both semesters of the evaluation period
  • If you graduate in one academic year or less, you can apply by contacting Study Services

Master-level scholarships

  • Master’s degree students can apply for a €2,000 scholarship based on study progress and academic performance
  • To qualify, you must complete the required number of ECTS credits and maintain a minimum GPA of 4.5 (on the Finnish grading scale)

50% SAT Score Scholarship (Limited Award)

  • 50% waiver on the tuition fee for the entire degree (up to the statutory study time of 3.5 years/7 semesters)
  • Applicants with SAT scores above 1450 are eligible
  • Only 5 waivers are awarded each year (2 for the January intake and 3 for the August intake)
  • This 50% waiver cannot be combined with the Early Bird discount or any other scholarships
