The Baccalauréat en statistique et science des données, a Bachelor of Science programme at Université Laval and the only one of its kind taught in French in Quebec, teaches students to collect, analyse and model real-world data. This expertise applies to fields such as insurance, medicine, natural sciences and artificial intelligence.

The programme combines theory, grounded in mathematics and probability, with practical training in modern computing tools, including AI, to collect, visualise, analyse and model data. Students choose a concentration in either statistics or data science and complete a capstone project in their final year using real data from university research or industry.

Statistics and Data Science suits people who are good with numbers, enjoy solving problems and computer work, and are curious, versatile and meticulous. Graduates work as statisticians, data scientists, data analysts or biostatisticians in hospitals, insurance companies, government agencies and technology firms.
