The Baccalauréat en génie logiciel (Software Engineering) is a Bachelor of Engineering programme offered at Université Laval. It trains students to specify, design, maintain and ensure the quality of complex software systems, using rigorous methodologies and solid scientific foundations.

The curriculum covers all aspects of software development, including requirements analysis, design, programming, quality control and project management, and introduces concepts and methods specific to software engineering. Students also deepen their knowledge in areas such as big data processing, computer security, video game development or robotics, and develop skills for multidisciplinary work.

The programme suits people who enjoy science, computing and engineering, are comfortable with mathematics, including discrete mathematics, and are passionate about programming and application development. Depending on their interests, graduates can work in fields such as networks, artificial intelligence, critical industrial systems, multimedia software, computer security and information systems.
