The Software Engineering program emphasizes the best software engineering practices, current methodologies, emerging technologies, and their applications in various industries. It also emphasizes the development of communication and presentation skills in a team-based software development environment. The curriculum encompasses all important aspects of software engineering, including: requirements engineering, software architecture and design, software construction, software testing and quality assurance, software maintenance, and software project management.

  • Official high school transcripts with a GPA of 2.75

Postgraduate academic requirements

  • Each graduate program establishes its own application and admission standards, and deadlines. Pathway GPA requires a 2.3 to 2.75 GPA; Direct Entry requires a 2.5 to 4.0 GPA

English proficiency

Undergraduate

  • TOEFL 80 on the IBT TOEFL with no subsection lower than 17 or IELTS Academic 6.5

Graduate

  • TOEFL score of 80 (ibt) with all section scores at 17 or higher, or an IELTS score of 6.5, or a Duolingo English Test score of 115 and above, or a Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 53.

Global Gateway Program Scholarships

Undergraduates are eligible for multiple scholarships when they apply to DePaul University’s Global Gateway Program.

For level GGP (3-, 4-, or 5-Quarter)

- **Amount:** US$5,000 to US$15,000 per year - **Requirements:** $9,000 for 3.0 to 3.49 GPA / $12,000 for 3.5 to 4.0 GPA. Scholarships automatically renewable for 3 years, provided student maintains good academic standing (2.0 GPA).

For Direct Admission

- **Amount:** US$15,000 to US$24,000 per year - **Requirements:** Scholarships automatically renewable for 3 years, provided student maintains good academic standing (2.0 GPA).
