Program overview

What Monroe University says about their program:

Public health is a broad field that deals with issues as diverse as chronic diseases, environmental health hazards, malnutrition, sexually transmitted infections, community violence, social and economic inequality, substance abuse, and much more.

As different as all these issues may seem, the people who work to combat them share something essential in common. They are all driven to serve — not only to prolong people’s lives, but to improve the quality of those lives.

With an accredited Master of Public Health degree from our King Graduate School, you’ll be ready to play a vital role in mitigating health issues on both the local and global level. You’ll develop the skills you need to collaborate with clinicians, health care agencies, and community members; to identify resources to help reduce the prevalence of public health issues, and to help prevent the incidence of health problems in diverse populations.

Scholarships at Monroe University

  • Caribbean Government Supplemental Award (CGSA)

    Official page

An undergraduate-only award for accepted international students from Caribbean nations whose governments have entered into an articulation agreement with Monroe University. Eligibility and the award amount are set by the specific bilateral agreement and are generally matched by the sponsoring Caribbean ministry of education, making this explicitly available only to international undergraduates from partner Caribbean countries.

  • International Scholarship (INTS)

    Official page

A competitive, merit-based scholarship awarded to new-to-Monroe undergraduate international F1 visa students who show an excellent academic record at their prior high school or college (e.g., a 3.0 or higher GPA), with award size tied to the rigor of that prior program. It is explicitly open to international undergraduates on F1 status (and also to US citizens/permanent residents who reside abroad and begin studies at Monroe immediately upon entering the US). The scholarship continues through completion of the undergraduate degree provided the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA, completes at least 12 credits each semester, and stays continuously enrolled.

  • International Student Grant (ISG)

    Official page

A need-adjacent institutional grant for new undergraduate international students holding F1 visa status at Monroe University. The award is aimed squarely at international undergraduates, and separately allows US citizens or permanent residents who reside abroad, are Pell-eligible, and begin studies at Monroe immediately upon entering the US to qualify as well (those students must remain Pell-eligible to keep the grant). Because F1 international undergraduates are the primary named eligible group, this grant is open to international students.
