What De Montfort University says about their program:
The Optometry (MOptom) program at De Montfort University covers the subject through academic study and practical learning. At DMU, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality programmes with an excellent student experience at the heart of what we offer. As with all new programmes, this course is currently progressing through the General Optical Council’s (GOC) staged approval process, which is the standard procedure for a new MOptom degree in the UK*. As part of this approval process DMU has successfully achieved Stage 3 and has been given permission to recruit (enrol) students on to the program. New Optometry programmes are not fully approved by the GOC until a decision is made at Stage 5, which is the final stage of the approval process.
