The Master of Music in performance degree prepares students for professional music careers in a supportive, collegial environment.  Graduate students study with highly celebrated performers who are committed to teaching excellence.  The graduate performance program consists of applied lessons, ensembles, core studies in music theory/history and research, and related studies.

Admission requirements

Undergraduate academic requirements

  • Official high school transcripts with a GPA of 2.75

Postgraduate academic requirements

  • Each graduate program establishes its own application and admission standards, and deadlines. Pathway GPA requires a 2.3 to 2.75 GPA; Direct Entry requires a 2.5 to 4.0 GPA

English proficiency

Undergraduate

  • TOEFL 80 on the IBT TOEFL with no subsection lower than 17 or IELTS Academic 6.5

Graduate

  • TOEFL score of 80 (ibt) with all section scores at 17 or higher, or an IELTS score of 6.5, or a Duolingo English Test score of 115 and above, or a Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 53.

Global Gateway Program Scholarships

Undergraduates are eligible for multiple scholarships when they apply to DePaul University’s Global Gateway Program.

For level GGP (3-, 4-, or 5-Quarter)

- **Amount:** US$5,000 to US$15,000 per year - **Requirements:** $9,000 for 3.0 to 3.49 GPA / $12,000 for 3.5 to 4.0 GPA. Scholarships automatically renewable for 3 years, provided student maintains good academic standing (2.0 GPA).

For Direct Admission

- **Amount:** US$15,000 to US$24,000 per year - **Requirements:** Scholarships automatically renewable for 3 years, provided student maintains good academic standing (2.0 GPA).
