• Hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• Generally, all applicants must have an overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Minimum GPA requirements vary depending on your academic major.

English proficiency waivers

• Successful completion of a U.S. academic program

  Students must have received a high school diploma, associate degree or higher from a U.S. institution within the previous two years prior to beginning studies at SFA

• English speaking countries

  Students educated and earning a diploma or degree in these countries at the secondary or post-secondary level in English will be exempt from additional English language testing.

Funding

Office of International Programs Scholarship This scholarship is awarded annually to students who will contribute to the increased diversity for international representation at SFA. Students who receive the OIP Scholarship are eligible for Texas resident tuition rates, which cost approximately $4,500 less per semester.

  Undergraduate students: 2.75 GPA. Graduate students: 3.25 GPA. Student whose native language is not English, who has lived in a country other than the United States for a period of five years or more or a student who has foreign or dual citizenship recognized by the foreign country and not by the United States.

Mexico out-of-state tuition waiver program As a result of the North American Free Trade Agreement, two students from Mexico per 1,000 students enrolled at SFA are eligible to pay in-state tuition and fees (with 12,000 students at SFA, 24 students from Mexico would be entitled to receive this tuition waiver). Students accepted into this financial aid program must sign a financial need statement.
