Hope College automatically considers every degree-seeking international undergraduate applicant for a merit-based scholarship of up to $30,000 per year, with no separate application or additional forms required. The award is determined through an overall evaluation of the admissions file, including the quality of secondary school coursework and grades, a personal statement, and examples of activities and leadership. Because it is offered specifically to non-U.S. citizens/residents applying as international students, and international financial aid and scholarships at Hope range from $25,000 to $35,000 per year, this award is explicitly open to and designed for international undergraduates. The scholarship is granted at the time of admission and is renewable for up to four years provided the student remains in good academic standing; recipients are required to live on campus while receiving the award.
