Through the International Studies program, students are offered the opportunity to acquire factual knowledge, theoretical and analytical skills in international affairs, while gaining valuable, practical and professional experience through an internship program. Students choose to specialize in either International Relations or International Cooperation and Development. Students can also pursue a minor in American Studies, African Studies, Gender Studies, Human Resource Development, Communication Studies, Organizational Studies, Computer Science or Business Administration.

Postgraduate academic requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent
  • Strong academic average in course work leading to the Licence or, if graduating from a system using the US higher education model, an average or better in the upper level (junior and senior level) work and in any graduate work already completed; or, other evidence of ability to succeed in graduate study

Entry requirements

Undergraduate

  • Success in the General Admission Test (GAT) or an SAT score of 1500 points minimum for English native speakers with at least 500 in mathematics; for non native speakers of English, the minimum score is 1340 with at least 500 in mathematics.
  • A satisfactory interview, where applicable.

Postgraduate

  • Adequate preparation for the proposed graduate program; and, acceptance by the appropriate Admissions Committee. Selected candidates may be invited for an interview with the admissions committee.
