The Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Promotion & Education is an established career-oriented cohort program. Our graduates are prepared to develop effective health promotion and wellness programs for individuals, communities, and organizations. Our mission is to promote wellness and health literacy, improve health equity, and prevent injuries, infectious, and chronic diseases.

The degree is developed for individuals with an interest in “helping professions.” It uses multiple pedagogy and theories from health sciences, marketing, business, education, and psychology, combined with social justice principles to promote behavior change through policy, advocacy, and information dissemination. The goals are to keep the disease from developing, promote early detection of disease, manage chronic disease, remove systemic barriers, and build systemic support to increase wellness in all areas for all people.

  • Every Bachelor's program require the completion of prerequisite courses at the Associate level, related to the specific field, or the equivalent credits.

    The Bellevue College Foundation runs a single scholarship application (hosted on AwardSpring) that automatically considers each applicant for the majority of the Foundation's donor-funded scholarships, which generally range from USD 1,000 to USD 3,000 per academic year and can be applied to tuition, fees, and BC Bookstore purchases. Eligibility is open to any student who plans to attend or is currently attending Bellevue College, including students in bachelor's degree and associate programs. The college's official Scholarship FAQ explicitly confirms international/non-domestic students may apply: in answer to "Must I be a U.S. citizen to apply?" the page states "No. You must, however, plan to attend or are currently attending Bellevue College," with no citizenship or residency restriction imposed on the general Foundation Scholarship pool.
