What Algoma University says about their program:
Our program focuses on cross-cultural human geography, land stewardship, and geomatics. Based at the Sault Ste. Marie campus, you will be studying in a region with a rich diversity of peoples and natural environments, and you can immerse yourself in field and experiential learning courses. With more to explore, there are opportunities to complete a practicum on our Island Geomatics Project or with local businesses and organizations including the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre. In terms of research, you can work alongside faculty conducting cutting-edge projects on food sovereignty in Northern Ontario and beyond. In addition to a three year or honours degree, options include a Geomatics Certificate and the Aki and Environmental Stewardship Certificate. While completing your degree, you can choose to achieve Level 1 (6 threecredit courses) of the Professional Lands Management Certification Program which is offered in partnership with the National Aboriginal Lands Managers Association (NALMA).
