Program overview

What the University of Guelph says about their program:

The Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics program at the University of Guelph explores the field through its curriculum, practical learning, and related opportunities. Governments alone cannot manage the challenges facing global food and agriculture. How we utilize the world's limited resources will be key to sustainable development and wealth. In the agricultural and food industries, this often require changes to laws, public policies and the organization of markets - which is where their skills and experience as a food, agriculture and resource economics student will be crucial. In this major, students will analyze the economics of the agri-food system and dynamics of international trade. Gain the skills and experiences that will prepare students to be an expert in global agri-food issues and be ready to tackle them head-on. Students can explore areas of agriculture, resources, and economics, while studying about food, hunger, international trade, poverty, and the broader agri-food system.
