Undergraduate academic requirements

  • Students applying to bachelor’s degree programs must have obtained a secondary school diploma. This diploma must be eligible to access further academic studies in the country where it has been obtained

Graduate academic requirements

  • An undergraduate degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in an academic discipline relevant to the proposed field of study

English proficiency waivers

  • Students from countries that have English as their official language and the language of instruction
  • Obtained a degree from an institution in the United States (US) or a country where English is the official language and the medium of instruction
  • Studied 2 years or more at a US high school and earned a high school diploma
  • At least one year high school education in the USA and earned a B or higher in the English or English Literature class (not ESL, not English grammar)
  • Official SAT/ACT score report that meets the university minimum requirements. Minimum SAT of 900 or Minimum ACT of 16
  • Satisfactorily completed 24 semester credit hours (not including ESL classes) at an accredited college or university in the US or a country where English is the official language and the medium of instruction
  • Satisfactorily completed the equivalent of College Composition I and College Composition II with a grade of “C” or above at an accredited U.S. college or university

Merit-based scholarships

    Minimum 2.6 GPA out 4.0. Additional Brown & Gold Scholarship (for out-of-state students)

Graduate

Graduate Assistant (GA)

  • Amount

    Full-time GA: 20 hours per week, tuition remission for 9 credits and a stipend each semester. Part-time GA: 10 hours per week, tuition remission for 6 credits and a stipend each semester

  • Requirement

    Graduate Assistants are graduate students who provide academic and program support. GA responsibilities may be administrative in nature, consisting of duties that typically are not related to teaching or research. Such activities may include assisting with the administration of student services, participating in student recruiting, assisting in program planning, and advising undergraduate student groups. Graduate Assistantships can be granted as full- or part-time during one single academic year (fall and spring terms).
