The mission of the BSEMS program at AUI is to produce engineers with a strong technical foundation and a deep understanding of the challenges of leading technological organizations. BSEMS graduates will be able to lead innovation and change in a variety of professional settings and industries. They will be able to work effectively across disciplines, cultures, and boundaries.
The program educational objectives are to produce graduates who will:
- Be practicing professionals or pursue graduate studies in a variety of fields;
- Be able to work in multi-lingual settings;
- Be able to work in countries around the world;
- Be able to lead organizational change, innovation, and projects;

- Strong academic average in course work leading to the Licence or, if graduating from a system using the US higher education model, an average or better in the upper level (junior and senior level) work and in any graduate work already completed; or, other evidence of ability to succeed in graduate study

Entry requirements
Undergraduate
- Success in the General Admission Test (GAT) or an SAT score of 1500 points minimum for English native speakers with at least 500 in mathematics; for non native speakers of English, the minimum score is 1340 with at least 500 in mathematics.
- A satisfactory interview, where applicable.
Postgraduate
- Adequate preparation for the proposed graduate program; and, acceptance by the appropriate Admissions Committee. Selected candidates may be invited for an interview with the admissions committee.
