The Bachelor of Design in Architecture is an undergraduate degree at Bond University, taught at the Abedian School of Architecture. It prepares students to use innovative design and new technologies.

The programme addresses major issues of the present day, including climate change, population growth and rapid urbanisation. Solutions-driven thinking is central to how architectural design is taught. The programme sits within Bond's Architecture study area.

The Abedian School building is one of Australia's only dedicated design studios for architecture students. Its soaring windows, floating mezzanine, internal streets and scoops provide the setting for studio work. Teaching for this programme is listed as on campus at the Gold Coast Campus, with intakes in January, May and September.

    58 with no communicative skills below 50 for most bachelor's degrees; 65 for the higher-requirement programs.

    C1 Advanced overall English Scale score 176 with no section score below 169.

Postgraduate

  • IELTS

    Overall 6.5 with no sub-score less than 6.0 for most master's, graduate diploma and graduate certificate programs; Overall 7.0 with no sub-score less than 6.5 or 7.0 for nutrition, psychology, occupational therapy and physiotherapy programs.

Approved English language test results must be no more than 24 months old at the start of the program.

English proficiency waivers

  • Successful completion of post-secondary studies taught in English may be accepted as evidence of English language proficiency.
  • For programs requiring IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, at least one semester full-time equivalent completed at Australian Qualifications Framework bachelor level or above can be used; incomplete qualifications remain valid for 24 months.
  • Recognised secondary and post-secondary qualifications from countries including Canada, Singapore and Sweden are accepted, such as the Ontario Secondary School Diploma or British Columbia Senior Secondary School Graduation Diploma with 60% in the final year, a completed Polytechnic Diploma or Advanced Diploma, and Swedish English A or English B at grade C.
  • Completion of the Bridging English Program with a minimum overall grade of 4 and a minimum grade of C in all four sub-skills is accepted for programs requiring IELTS 6.5.
