What Jacksonville State University says about their program:
The Clinical Mental Health Counseling specialty leads to eligibility, after passing the required examination and meeting the post-master's supervised experience requirement, as a Licensed Professional Counselor Alabama and may lead to licensure in other states, depending on their requirements. The course of study is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and the core required courses in the program meet the eight CACREP core areas required by most states for licensure. In addition, students will gain professional knowledge, skills, and practices necessary to address a wide variety of circumstances within the clinical mental health counseling context.

Awarded through Jax State's Jones International House Program, a global living-and-learning residential program at the Clarence W. Daugette, Jr. International House. Students accepted into the International House who meet program criteria receive a tuition-and-fees scholarship plus a housing scholarship, renewable for up to two years. The program and its scholarship explicitly welcome international undergraduate students (alongside American students who commit to the cross-cultural living program), with a priority application deadline of March 1 and a final deadline of April 1. Applicants must first be admitted to the university before applying for this scholarship.
Jacksonville State University (Jax State) automatically awards this merit scholarship to all admitted international freshmen, providing $5,000 annually ($20,000 over four years) toward tuition and fees. No separate application is required beyond admission; renewal requires maintaining full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) and earning at least 24 institutional credit hours annually, per the standard terms listed alongside the university's other first-time freshman merit scholarships. This award is explicitly listed as a distinct category for admitted international students, separate from the domestic GPA/test-score-based Gamecock scholarship tiers.
