Public relations and advertising prepare you to use traditional and digital media to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and publics. Over the past decade, the field has exploded as specific fields like sports and entertainment, business, healthcare, science and technology, and finance has all recognized the emerging value of public relations to their work. In the Department of Communication, you’ll work with strategic communication tools and insights as you prepare for the field by writing persuasively; understanding media relations, publicity and reputation management; creating compelling content; and engaging in campaign planning.
